Meet our Priest

Fr. Alex Radulescu

Fr. Alex was born in 1979 in Sibiu, Romania to Eugen and Monica Radulescu. He graduated in 1999 from the Simion Stefan High School of Theology in Alba Iulia. Returning to his hometown, he enrolled at the Andrei Saguna Institute of Theology and graduated with a University Degree in Pastoral Theology in 2003.

Following a visit in the fall of 2002 to Detroit, he decided to further his studies at the Roman Catholic Sacred Heart Major Seminary, applying for an M.A. degree in Theology. While studying at Sacred Heart, he volunteered as a chanter at St. George Romanian Orthodox Cathedral in Southfield, Michigan. Upon presenting his M.A. thesis "St. Gregory Palamas: Controversy and Reception in the 14th Century," he graduated with honors in May 2006.

From September 2009 to January 2018 he worked as an assistant in the office of Metropolitan Nicholas of Detroit. On March 2, 2014, he was ordained a Deacon by His Eminence Metropolitan Nicholas. On January 20, 2018, the same hierarch ordained him a Priest and assigned him as an assistant at the parish of Saint Nicholas in Ann Arbor, Michigan. On September 1, 2020, Fr. Alex was assigned as a parish priest at Holy Cross Church in Farmington Hills, Michigan.

Fr. Alex is married to Presvytera Silvana (née Totan) and they have three children: Gabriel (2013), Zoe (2018), and Casiana (2020).
